Saturday Scrimmage vs Joel Barlow - Bus leaves at 11:30. Should be back by 2:30. The coaches will communicate who will be dressed and on the bus for the scrimmage by Thursday. All are welcome to watch.
Players and parents, here are a few important updates for the week:
1) Tryouts begin this weekend!
Saturday: 10am - 12pm on Ludlowe turf
Sunday: 6pm - 8:15pm on Ludlowe turf
Monday - Friday: 6:30pm - 8:30pm next week
NOTE: If you have not given your physical forms to the school nurse please contact Coach Parisi asap (email@example.com). Players who are not registered or who havent submitted their physical paperwork will not be allowed to take the field this weekend.
2) Visit the new FLHS Lax store HERE. This store is run by a different group than we have used in the past, and has some great new items. They also promise to ship all orders within 7 days of the store closing date of 3/20. Buy now to set yourselves up for our first game!
Send your family, friends... think of future Birthdays... and why not think waaaay ahead to the Holidays?
3) We have made progress but are still far from our fundraising goal. Use these last few days and the great weather to get out there and sell some sponsorships!
A few players have raised over $100 more than the minimum (and are in the running for a prize). Unfortunately there is a large group of players who have not submitted anything yet -- looking forward to hearing from you all by end of day Sunday!
Thats it! Good luck this weekend and let us know if you have any questions at
There are only 10 days left of our 2019 Fundraising campaign. Though we have committments of $4500 from sponsors, we have actually only collected about $2500. If you have checks, please submit them ASAP. This is the weekend to go back to any sponsors, follow up, get their committment and collect a check.
Our goal of $19,700 is the lifeline to fuel our upcoming season. Without this fundraising, many of the events PALS supports will not be possible. What does PALS do for our players? Here are some of the things this fundraising will allow us to do:
Subsidized off season clinics, tournaments, coaching
Full pay for off season activities
Subsidized extra Spring coaches
No extra coaches
Coach Bus to special game events
School Bus or No Bus
Pizza/Meal on bus rides home from away games
No food for bus rides home
Subsidized pasta dinners before home games
Entirely funded by parents
Senior Night / Awards Banquet at a nice restaurant
No Senior Night or End of Season Awards Banquet
West Point tailgate and coach bus
No tailgate, school bus
As a reminder, selling ad space in our program book helps offset the PALS individual player dues of $325. If you would rather simply pay the player dues instead of selling program space, thats fine too. Visit the Payment Page and select 2019 dues.
In the Sales Log, you can see who has sold, and where they have pitched and sold ads. If you haven't looked at the log, please click that link now and and take a look.
- Sales Log: record your sales here and find businesses that havent been spoken to yet!
Thanks to all who were able to attend the FLHS Lax social at Cinch, and another HUGE thanks to the Russells for hosting. It was great to (re)connect with all of you and build the excitement for the Spring 2019 Season!
If you were unable to make it last night, here are the 5 things you need to know:
2.Coach Parisi gave a great preview of the season and invites anyone with questions about the season, etc to contact him directly at
. Official practice will start on Saturday, March 16. Updated practice schedules will be communicated in the weeks to come.
3. We received updates from the Philanthropy, Pasta Dinner, West Point Tailgate, Senior Night, and FLHS merchandise committees about their plans for the season. Each group willbe sending updates about events. if you are interested in helping please contact the committee members HERE on the PALS directory page.
4.We are in need of someone to manage the End of Season Awards Ceremony. Please reach out to
if you are interested. We have it down to a science, so there is not much heavy lifting needed!
5.The Fundraising committee officially launch the 2019 Program Sponsorship Program. Like past years, we are selling ad space in 72 page booklet. All sales revenue will be counted against the $325 player dues, so start selling today! The cutoff for Advertising Sales is Sunday, March 17.
Thank you all for the efforts made yesterday in our first annual West Point Outing. It was an amazing day of food, lacrosse and camaraderie -- and the weather only served as an appropriate backdrop to a perfectly executed event by P.A.L.S.
As we reflected on the bus ride home, our lacrosse season is merely a journey of life. Where there are 10-7 losses to Cheshire as bumps in the road, there are also amazing bonds of fellowship strengthened by those very bumps. As that Army team sang their traditional song at the end of their bitter loss to their rivals on senior day, it should renew in all of us the commitment to what we have built together.
Overall, the one word that came to mind was GRATITUDE. I am grateful for the efforts, sacrifices and never-say-die mentality that the players demonstrated on the field yesterday. Thank you all for diligently executing the three things that we asked in the gameplan on Friday: middie defense, control of the dodge from X and our Gold clear. On behalf of all the coaches and players, we are extremely grateful to the parents for hosting all the great events that we have and for supporting us in our ups and downs.
